OBJECTIVE   To obtain a basic understanding of the chiropractic system of adjusting known as SACRO OCCIPITAL TECHNIC. It will be taught as documented by Dr. Major B. DeJarnette

DESCRIPTION   This technique utilizes a preceise set of spinal and body reflex indicators to determine when and what body structure to adjust. Three category classifications are discussed and demonstrated with hands on instruction. Pelvic blocks (wedge shape) are the primary adjusting instruments for each category.

Category One is a correction of compromised sacral motion with the ilia and fifth lumbar. This compromise can directly affect the dural attachment to the sacrum. Analysis and adjustment for this category is done prone.

Category Two is a correction to a subluxated ilium, in most cases, due to trauma. This type lesion can create spinal instability by the formation of an uneven sacral base. Analysis and adjustment for this category is done supine.

Category Three is a correction to stabilize pelvic and lumbar instability that often results in discogenic insult and its ramifications of sciatic nerve involvment. Analysis and adjustment for this category is done prone.
